  1. Hi, i know this would sound very weird, but I've got this vob file which has been demuxed and ready for authoring. I encountered this weird problem, or rather never heard of it, that it has a wrong aspect ratio (16:9). The fps for this file is 29.97, which would make it a NTSC file format rite? So I presume the standard should be 4:3, but since the rest of my vobs are 4:3, the authoring software doesnt allow me to import this "weird" file to be included in the project.

Is there any methods/ways I can just change the aspect ratio of my file from 16:9 to 4:3 without changing the fps and its NTSC format? Thanks!

  2. It's because you can't normally mix widescreen and fullscreen sources on the same DVD project.

A way around this is to use DVDPatcher to patch the VOB into a 4:3 aspect ratio. Author, then find the resulting VOB file that it creates for that video and use DVDPatcher to repatch it back to 16:9. Then burn the project. This works wonders from my DVHS sources which are 544x480 (very odd, but it is the low quality setting).

Or you could just use DVD-Lab for authoring, ignore all errors, cross your fingers and hope it works like it does for me.
