Grundig DVDR550...Which discs???

Can anyone advise me as to which discs will work on my new Grundig DVDR550???? The box of Packard Bell +R's I had with it are totally useless. So far I have found that the Memorex +R's are ok, and also a brand called Mr DVD sold by Partners stationers in the UK will work. I have been told that Phillips and TDK will work also. Can anyone confirm this?? as at 35 to 40 GBP a box, it is a lot of cash to waste if they dont!!!!!
