In order for the DVD experts(of which I don't claim to be among) to help you it would be useful to know what you are burning. Is this a DVD copy, or some kind of file that you converted to DVD?

  4. thegame310,

If sick of wasting dvds use DVD+/-RWs.

It would be helpful to know the type of system you are using.
What processes are running when burning?

I've seen this problem when processor hungry programs are running in the background.

  5. I have also had minimal luck converting .avi's to either SVCD or DVD.

Either my audio is out of synch (all bad frames have been taken care of), audio has been separated, but still out of synch.

Or one I just got this weekend was the following error in Windows Media Player "Class Factory not included/found." I am going to assume this has something to do with a codec. However, when I open G-Spot to get the file information, I have the specified codec installed.

*shrug* I dont know. You people who can convert stuff are either brilliant or really lucky :P

Converting avi to dvd compliant files isnt lucky or brilliant, its just ways of trying to fix the errors and doing what you can to get the sync back to specs, stretching and shrinking and setting the delays for audio tracks is time consuming so is searching for the bad frames in avi`s which can sometimes be in several spots throwing the audio out a few times to really screw up the sync,it just takes time and patience if the avi`s are worth converting.

  10. When using TMPGEnc DVD Author should I Re-Encode the audio using the output format of the track?

  11. Ok I just downloaded Great American Bash 1989 and I ripped the audio right away from Virutaldub, went to TMPGEnc DVD Author and coded it all and re-encoded the audio and it works perfectly but how comes Virutaldub wont open up my Survivor Series 1987 files? Any suggestions?
