  1. Hello,
I installed a second drive on my system as the secondary(slave) on the primary IDE.
Both drives are WD 120GB, and as far as I can tell, are set up identical, except the new one has three partitions.
When I go to copy a file from the secondary to the primary drive, it takes for ever ( pretty big file though ).
When I capture to the new(secondary) drive, the video playback of the capture is very choppy. As a sanity check, capturing to the old drive works fine.
What's best , and what's wrong here? Is it the partitions on the new drive??
    Thanks in advance...

Have a look at this thread - you may have similar issues with the DMA setting.

  3. bunyip,
...thanks for the pointer to that thread about the DMA settings, that was the problem. the bios was showing the second drive as OFF, not AUTO. after changing it to AUTO, the capture and playback was perfect. thanks again.
