First of al hi im Jeroen From Holland and im 27 years old.
I just bought my first brand new dvd burner,my friend from the states went here with a few dvd movies we burned them and watch it on my standalone dvd player...
But now the big problem there are no dutch subtitles selectable in the movie every lanquage sub is there but no dutch,
Is there a way to put dutch subtitles in it(i know were to get srt files so thats not the problem)
I hope someone can explain me step by step how to do it...if its possible

Well, start by extracting the subtitles that you will be translating (get the text and the timing). Use a program like SUBRIP.
Import the extracted subtitles into some subtitle program (I use SubStationAlpha).
Translate each line as you see fit.
From here, it is authoring program specific. I use MaestroSBT to convert the SSA files to bitmap images that I then import into DVDMaestro.ICBM target coordinates:
26° 14' 10.16"N -- 80° 16' 0.91"W -
Thks for the reply
I just ripped the shrek DVD using dvd decrypter after that i shrinked it(dvd shrink)and those files are now on my hardisk i also downloaded the srt file for the movie). So what to do from here?
Is there a person who knows how to get the subtitles in it what program to use and what to do first...
Thks alot

Yeah well I had tried to do something like this with an animated movie. It's extremely hard to get the subs to look and behave properly...I eventually re-encoded the movie with hard subs on the video then created a new dvd with the newly encoded mpeg2 file.
