  1. I have a home video DVD and one audio channel (Left) is noisy. I want to reauthor and use only the good channel (Right).

    I’m thinking to do this:

    1. Rip
    2. Demux
    3. Edit the AC3; delete the Left channel and fill over with the Right.
    4. Remux
    5. Use the original IFO file and burn.

The problem is I don’t know what application to use for step #3. Also I want to use the original IFO to be able to preserve chapter points, but I’m not sure that would work.

    .
You can use Headac3he to extract the channel you want, save as wav.
Then use goldwave to turn this mono wav into stereo (dual mono) wav.
Then use Besweet to convert your stereo (dual mono) wav back to AC3.

Looks like a lot of hassle to me but I can't think of a simpler way. Maybe some one else can improve on this process

  3. I was afraid I have to go that way. Oh well…

Thanks for pointing out the applications to use!
