Authoring a Single DVD from 3 films INFO & VOB Files

Can anyone explain to me how to author a new dvd once the originals' content-- vob and info files-- have been copied to my desktop.

I've been trying to backup two to three of the store purchased DVDs I own on a single blank 4.7 GB DVD-R . What I hoped to do was eliminate all of "the extras" and combine the films alone (1 to 2 GB) on one disk.

Although the advanced function of my DVD X Copy Platinum allows me to select certain tracks from a SINGLE DVD, it doesn't permit me to store tracks from multiple DVDs prior to burning. Accordingly, I've used Step ONE of the 'simple' process to create folders of each movie on my desktop. I'd now like to select the movies alone from these folders and burn them on to one DVD but have no idea how to proceed.

I own Nero's 6.0.0.23 burning software but haven't the slightest clue which files to select from the desktop folders nor how to convert them into a format Nero would recognize for burning.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the easiest way to go would be to get an authoring app that allows for using VOBs directly(TMPGEN DVD Author or DVD-Lab) and re-author using the VOBs.

If it ends up being too big to fit on one DVDR, then you could use DVDShrink to transcode it to the proper size.

The other benefit to this is that you can create menus for the different movies as well.
