I needed to make a copy of a dvd I had created (home video type, no protection, etc.) so I decided to use nero recode v2 (current)..I used the option to read & burn at once...pop the new dvd into my sony standalone to check out how it looks ...
... waited about 10 mins for sony to try to find the menu and nothing happens so I try to shut it off but can't ... try to reset & it then gets stuck in trying to power down...
had to send it back to sony ... just came back w/ a note on my dvd "Do not used this dvd - it is defective and it will damage your player"
what kind of disk could have been created that send the settop into an endless loop?????!!!! I can't believe that the settop would get a dvd that it can't handle or at least that doesn't send it into an endless loop!! (and, it plays fine on my pc ... (UDF 1.02)
repair note says "constant data i/o mechanical adjustment"

donpedro I think you're right..you know, I told them that if it helps them, they could keep the disk to figure out why the player couldn't read it but they sent it back..maybe they already know what's wrong...
I've used the same media before in the recorder, so I think it's however nero recorded on it.."As you ramble on through life, brother, whatever be your goal - keep your eye upon the doughnut and not upon the hole."
