Is there a way to put AVI files on to a DVDR disc and play it on the LVD-2002? I dont want to convert them to VOB but straight AVI files on a DVDR, or even multiple AVI files for that matter??

    Thanks in Advance

Plain old AVI files (DivX, XviD) play fine on CD-R's on the LiteOn 2002.

So do plain old MPEG-2 files from my ReplayTV.

No authoring or converting to VOB or anything like that.

Haven't tried them on DVD-R discs, but they should work...

I burnt National Security to a DVD-RW and it loaded up fine. I am going to try loading a few on there tonight and seeing what it does. Have to figure out how it knows how many are on there and how to skip to the next moving without fast forwarding through the first one.

    Snedman,

When you have multiple files on a disc, it will start playing from the first one then automatically go to the next when that finishes. If you want to skip to the next file, just press the "next" >>| button on the remote. If you want to see a file list of what's on the disc, press the "menu" button and use the cursor keys to select the file you want and press "enter" to begin playback of that file.

  5. yep, in the case of multiples files (mp3s, avis, mpgs, jpegs, etc), the Next button will go to the next one. The separate files act like Chapters on a DVD or tracks on an MP3.

You guys/gals are the best. I will start playing with it tonight. No more watching it from my vid card out to the PC. Now I can surf and enjoy the web while my wife and kids watch TV. Next step is to figure out how to get stuff of my Tivo to the HD ummm fun.

Thanks for all of the feedback and advice.
