I had a game in my car and some broke my window and stole it. The game was rented from blockbuster. I have the game pass.
If I go to blockbuster and tell them I lost and would like to pay for it they'll probably charge me $50 or more. Has anyone this problem?
What if I go to gamestop and buy a used game and go to blockbuster and tell them I only lost the case. Do you think they'll charge me? If so how much for a case.
The game isn't even a hit title, its Speed Kings. I rather buy it for $25 or so used and go tell them I lost the case then being charged $50 or more for it.
What do you guys think?

Doesn't Blockbuster put all those stickers on their discs?
His name was MackemX
What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -
Ask them over the phone if you can buy the disk from them (don't say you lost it, but want to keep it). Then ask if you can pay by credit card over the phone instead of comming in to the store. Don't they have a "you like it, you buy it" type of thing? However, it probably would not work because they would want the case back.
Frankly, the best course of action may be to just tell the truth."A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."

Ya blockbuster puts those tags on their games I believe. If I was you, I would go in and talk to a manager or something and see if you can get something arranged with them. Bring in a statement of a police report and an insurance claim for it.
No sense in lying. You did nothing wrong. Just tell them what happened and say the insurance should pay for it.
Good Luck.

So if someone loses a case from blockbuster they pay full retail? I just saw gamestop has the game for $18. I dont want to get screw by blockbuster for paying retail price for the lost game...
-
blockbuster will charge you out the ass for even an old game.
buy the $18 one from gamestop & go to blockbuster and tell them you lost the case.
the blockbuster in my city only puts tags on some of their movies/games.. i dont think they would say anything.. if they do just say " i guess the guy that rented it from me before took it off".. they probably wont charge you anything for the case.. i've lost like 5 of'em and they never charged me..
you're not cheating them by doing this. its an honest way out.. unlike blockbuster ******* you by charging you $50 for an old game. -
this reminded me of something i did a while ago
back when gta3 was the shit, i used to play it nonstop. somehow the disc got scratched, and it froze after it began loading for a minute. my solution: rented gta3 from blockbuster or some rental place and swaped the discs. havent heard anything from the rental place and its been abotu 2 years so i think im in the clear.
anyone else do this? -

I've played speed kings....it sucks. If it was a good game, I would tell the truth, but for speed kings...I would do what jeex said because I dont see why you should pay 50+ bucks for a crappy game, case, and I think they tag on an inconvenience fee. My cousin used to work for blockbuster and he rented(free of course) "Return to castle wolfenstien"(I think that's that title) and he told his manager the truth and she made him pay $75.

I would file a police report and tell them what happened. tell them it wasnt because you flung it at your friend and it shattered or something YOU did wrong. How can you stop some ******* from busting your window out? My local BB is pretty cool, I never lost anything but they are generally easy to deal with when I get damaged tapes and the like.

That's some low-class stunt you pulled. You say it like you're proud of it. What a shame. -
