    I have some Dat files ripped from a vcd on my hard drive I thought that I could put them in SVCD2DVD however they arent recognised by the programe how do I convert or make them into mpegs so that the programe can pick them up

    if you rename them to *.mpg svcd2dvd should handle them as normal, otherwise you can use VCDGear GUI to do DAT->MPG
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    Go for the last option cause the first in most cases gives you audio/video sync problems
