    Want to buy a new high quality photo printer and scanner. Budget for printer is 300-500, scanner 150-200. My only requirement is high quality photos for family photos and that it prints borderless when needed. Sanner needs to be able to scan high resolution photo results to the hard drive for printing. Thank you for your help and recommendations.

    I use the Visoneer One Touch 8920 it has 1200x4800 dpi and 48bit color. What I like about it the most is the 35mm and slide adapter. The light is under the hood you just remove a panel and put the transparency sheet down. I have had this a couple of years and have scanned thousands of photos I am very happy with the quality.

    The printer I use for photos is the Epson R300M. The prints are unbelievable and it does borderless. It also has the media card slots and a 2.5 in color lcd to view the prints from your media card.

    From what I have read on the net some say yes some say no. I do know you would need a chip resetter. Here is a link I may have gotten the link from here not sure it is for catalog800.com and they have replacement carts. for 4.95 each they are generic not epson originals. When I need some ink I may give them a try.
