    I just received a 25 pack of Ritek G04's. This is my first time buying Riteks. They came on a spindle with a grey plastic base and no label whatsoever. It does say Ridata on the inner rim of each disk. Is there a way to scan the disk to verify they are authentic? Didn't have the best experience with Meritline....Mike

    A free download, dvddecrypter will show you "Ritek g04" if they are authentic. They should be. Although I myself have had probs with just about ALL of the dvd-r blanks sellers out there...from incorrect/damaged shipments to just plain attempts at cheating me out of a couple of discs (pathetic, I know). That's why I now only deal with one small company and haven't had problems since. Good luck.

    I got some G04 Riteks from Meritline and Rima. They both dont' burn at 4x on my SONY DRU 500AX f2.0c but both burn at 4x on my Pioneer 106D. There is a visual difference between the two discs. The first one has the Ridata sign engraved with transparent letters on the second one Ridata is printed with white letters. The printing area on the second one is a little bit larger. The first one came in a cakebox /spindle/ the second one in the package shown on Rima's web page. So far for the visual/visible differences.
    Fisrt=Meritline
    Second=Rima

    Enjoy!
