hey everyone!
i dont know what the HELL is going on! i just reformatted and reinstalled my OS and now i got sound probs. im running Win2K and DO have a Soundblaster Live! Value card, but ive been capturing for years and this is the 1st occurance. actually, to think... it started to crackle the next time after capturing from SVHS (my first time doing so).
does anyone have a solution to this? my sound card is hooked up to my stereo and it doesnt make noises when listening to mp3s or playing games or anything, only after i play back a captured AVI. ive also unselected and muted every sound device except my line in and wave outs.
please help me people! this sucks...

got more info for you all...
after some tests:
AVI_IO captures fine, but my audio crackles.
VDub drops frames, but has no crackles.
i can use VDub, but only capturing uncompressed. if i try picvideo, i lose about 1 frame / 3 seconds.
i can capture in AVI_IO with the picvideo codec (with 0 frame drops), but then i suffer the audio loss.
what a joke! i dont know why there is such a difference in these 2 capture progys. i am running a dual P3 866 with 512 RAM and dual RAID HDs on the ntfs file system.
IM GOING CRAZY!!!
