I've been looking for weeks still no luck, I'll settle for a chip or a remote hack...... just something PLEASE !!!!!

This is the closest I've got so far, maybe a light at the end of the tunnel... this is what they had to say.

Trouble is they don't tell you WHAT IT IS !!!

I've contacted Hitachi and tried to bluff it out of them, I told them I'd changed to region 1 somehow and wanted to change back to region 2, they asked if it was a multi-region out of the box and where I purchased it. The only response I got was that they aren't AUTHORISED to give out the remote hack, they did give me this number to call though (authorised hitachi repairer) 0114 2553702 (UK).

I had a reply from beststuff.co.uk about their multiregion htd-k170, this is as follows:-

We've come to the conclusion that our machine which is a grey import from Italy does have a different remote.

Just need to find the remote, also someone emailed me this link.
