OK, I've just moved to the US for a while & my DVD-R of choice (Shintaro) doesn't seem to be available over here (I'm from Oz). It has proven reliable with very few coasters.
Soooo..... I'm wondering what media people have had best results with that are commercially available in the US, especially those with PowerBooks.
I have a TiBook 1GHz with the drive flashed to 2x
Cheers

dont have that particular model of powerbook, but the Shintaro disks you were using are somewhat similar to Princo (aka DVD PRO) which you can get almost anywhere! they are cheap however... so not the most highly recommended media.
a particular favorite of mine are

however, on a flashed to 2x drive they will probably only burn 1x.
you will also probably find success with

which is another favorite of mine -
Apple 2x DVD-R media are now priced at $7.99 per 5-pack, or roughly $1.50 per disc. They are listed on Apple's Special Deals page, and are not available through the Education Store. This is a great price for highly reliable media. The 4x media is also available at a discounted price, and is further discounted in the Education Store.
