  1. I just bought an RCA DRC8000N to try and ease the pain of putting old videos on DVD. I had been trying to make DVD's using an HP dvd200e but it is extremely slow and tedious. Anyway, the new RCA works great, I made a dvd very easy from an old tape and it turned out nice. Problem is I would light to edit/add-to the menu so I can be able to select what portion of the DVD I would like to watch. Here is a list of programs I have tried,
    Arcsoft Showbiz
    CloneDVD
    DVD Decrypter
    Sonic MyDVD
    Ulead DVD Movie Factory
    VobSub

I tried to open the DVD in all of these and no-go. The DVD has two subdirectories on it, VIDEO_RM and VIDEO_TS and each has files in it.

I admit I dont know how to use most of these. So lots of rudimentary help will be appreciated. Thank you. Ken (hoping this is the right forum)

Use an RW disc....and use Movie Factory 2's "Edit Disc" function. Works GREAT with 1 hour mode DVD's....but I have "some" trouble with some 2 hour mode ones....still not sure why.

  3. I downloaded the Ulead MovieFactory 2. Nice GUI. It loaded the DVD but I can't figure out how to split the thing and add a menu with multiple buttons at the beginning of the disc so I can navigate to portion of the video I want to play. The "add chapter" doesn't do anything that I can tell. The "split video" seems like the thing I would need to use but its grayed out.

This package is neat but Im not figuring out how to do what Im looking for yet. Need help.

BTW, I am using an RW disc. The video is about 2hrs long copied from an old 8mm tape. Thanks.
