I've got a G4 mac at work and a PC at home.

I want a dvd writer that I can use on both.
Was thinking of getting an internal writer and putting into a external drive bay - mainly cause this seems to be alot cheaper than one external.

It needs to be firewire - I'll have to get a pci card for the pc.

So, has anyone any experience of using external writers, what make etc, etc..?

    cheers.

Here is an external firewire/usb 2 case for $54.50

    For drives
I would recommend Pioneer or Sony drive less than $130 here
They have a NEC drive that is $99
(Not for sure if NEC drive works with iTunes and iDVD if you stick it in internally)
