I have two store bought DVDs both are VeggieTales. They both skip (sometimes 2-3 mins) in my set top DVD player. If I go back over the spot it plays fine until the next skip.
Exchanged one at the store but still have the same problem. DVD player does not have a problem with any other store bought or backup DVD (ritek dvd+rw).
I thought it was just the quality of the disk the manufacturer used and that when I made a backup it would be fine.
I make a backup on a Ritek dvd+rw which on other movies works fine in my set top DVD player. But the backup also skips.
Is it the actual VOBs that are causing the skipping. The skipping is random. It doesn’t skip in the same place every time.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks,
jbirdg

In my opinion (and I'm no expert), I would say that you have ruled out most of the possible problems.
Sounds like it's the crap media that the company is printing their discs on. If you can run other store bought media, other store bought discs, and the backup of this movie skips, you know the drill...As I always say in this forum regarding DVD issues, and as is my motto in life: You get what you pay for!!
