  1. Hi All,
Id like to consider myself to be a veterent of CD Burning, and now id like to jump on the DVD Burning Bandwagon, but (if youll pardon the pun( i have some burning questions that i like answered. First of

Id like an Opinion on the Burner itself:
    Sony DRU 510A or
    LG GSA 4040b
The Software i have is Nero 6 Ultra Edition with Updates.
Which one of these drives should i get?

Secondly. i only have access to Sony, Maxell and Imation DVD Media, are these Medias any good?
I intend to use the drive for Ripping of Disks and encoding them to fit on DVD 5s or CDs. and the Movie DVDs that i will make, i want them to run on a PS2 that is Modified with a Magic 3 chip.
I know that you will ask me check out another link but, please .... just put me at ease and tell me which combination will suit me the best!! Thanks

  2. Well considering I think that Sony has a master plan of trying to take over the world I try to stay away from their products. Plus from everythign I've read and heard the LG is one hell of a piece of nice equiptment.

For the media, it all depends on the actual manufacturer of the discs, and which one's your ps2 will read.. My advice, buy the maxell's to test, if they work for you stick with them. Personally I use the TDK's 4x +R's RicohJPN that I have a total of 0 bad burns on. (Plus they are absolutely flawless looking right out of the box, where I have had some memorex's that look kind of spotty or splotchy)
