Based on the answer to another question I asked in a different forum, I'm guessing that a PAL DVD I just ordered will play on my Memorex MVD-2029, and will show up OK on my NTSC television. I have PAL/NTSC selectable output. Someone explained to me that if my DVD player has selectable output it should play a PAL disc fine with the output setting on NTSC. So I suppose the player would do the conversion from PAL to NTSC on the fly.
Can anyone explain this to me in more detail (and also in laymen's terms)? Do players, like mine, with selectable output actually contain a built-in PAL to NTSC converter?
Joe
