Hi,
Ready to capture, but I dont know which way to go as I burn using a Digital camcorder through firewire port. Tried many formats and DV format has best picture quality, but there are 2 types to capture in, type 1 or 2. Did research, but still cant get handle on the advantage of one way or the other. Also, are there other formats that equal the quality of DV-Avi format, but uses up less space on a disc.
Thanks fo help.![]()

Type 2 seems to be more compatible. Works directly into TMPGEnc and most other programs. If you are using a digital camcorder, your camcorder determines the codec and that is DV with all of the cameras I have seen. From DV, you can convert to most any format you want for permanent storage.
