Does anybody NOTICE this on any panasonic dvd recorders when record in SP more or below looking at any tv program or movie recorded in DVD-RAM or DVD-R:
- IF THERE IS NOT ANY MOVEMENT FOR MORE THEN 1/2 SECOND THE VBR RATE SLOWS DOWN CAUSES FLASHES OF SNOW TO APPEAR TILL MOVEMENT RESTARTS, this is annoying,
i have a DMR-E20 and it did the same thing in 3 recorders, i even turned the VBR to fixed still the same thing the question does this happen on the DMR-E30 or mainly DMR-HS2 or DMR-E50,80??? if you notice this please post, thank you.

Are you talking about macro block's when a sceen change's? If so I have seen this on the Pc when I capture with low bitrate's. WhenI record in VBR high bitrate's I do not have this problem.

I have a DMR-HS2. I have never had this problem recording with Fixed or VBR mode in either SP or LP (Never use EP). LP does have more of the macro blocks that Spidey mentioned. I now only record in the Fixed mode.
Sounds like a recorder problem, though in 3 different ones that would be unusual. Maybe it is the model or there was a "bad run" of them shipped to your area.
