    Hello!
I am a super newbie and need some help from the experts.
This is the very first time i try to make a SVCD.
My problem is that i don't get any subtitles in the movie.
    I use the softvare DVD2SVCD v. 1.2.1 build 3 and TMPGEnc Plus 2.521.58.169 and the guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/167502.php.
I have tested some differnt settinges in the subtitle tab (SVCD,CVD,Permanent Subtitle) but no change.
In Preview the the subtitle works.
    Can you plase help me?

Ps Sorry for my bad english. (I am from Sweden.) Ds

  2. havnt riped subs in a while but here goes, go to the subtitle tab in dvd2svcd and checck the rip subtitles in the to left, will u need the subs all the time??? select permanant subs in the top right, no where it says sub title lang 1: its english by default but change it to swedesh if thats what u need, set the rip going after the dvd is extracted 10/15 mins you should be given a screeen to confirm and check your subtitle choice

I have tested exactly the way you describe, and i got the screen to confirm and check the subtitle just like you say. I pressed the ok button and the program continue. Later on in the subs folder i find .bmp files and a .txt fil.
How should the program use the files?

  4. sorry it took me so long to get back, did u let dvd2svcd finish? any time ive done this the subs were multiplexed in to the mpeg near the end of the process, did u check to see if your bin and cue files had the subs when u played them????? having the the folder with the .txt and .bmp is normal and they should have been added to your movie?

    Hello again!
Tanks a lot for your help.
Evrything works fine now. I change the TMPGEnc Plus 2.521.58.169 to Cinema Craft Encoder SP 2.50.1.0 and then it works. I also tested the Cinema Craft Encoder SP 2.66.01.07 but with the same result as TMPGEnc.
    A bugg?
Tanks again for your help. Best regards, Nofate

Permanent subs is the way to go for (S)VCD/CVD. Not that many DVD players support selectable subs for SVCD.
