When I watch my burned SVCDs on a TV the picture is brighter. I already know that this is because the PC has more colours. I use tmpgEnc to encode my episodes to SVCD Format. What must I do to avoid this effect?

Well, actually a TV has quite a few more colors because it is an analog device and the colors can be blended as opposed to a computer where the colors are discrete and digital. However, if the higher brightness level is not a result of your TV, you can adjust this with filters in TMPGEnc.
