Howdy all,
I know this may seem a simple task to some, however I've read all the information on falshing my new drive, downloaded the firmwear (several actually) and still get the same responce:
Firmwear already active
It doesn't update the existing 106 firmwear.
I even made a boot disk and tried it that way, same responce!!
Anybody have ANY help at all?
Cheers in advance.
Running the system under XP if that helps.

HI,
Havnt done it yet
but if you run it from a bootdisk you have to have the CDrom Drivers running so you can read the Drive to be able to flash the firmware
and im sure this is correct with pioneer drives is that you can only upgrade to a higher version(1.06-1.07) but you cant go back(1.07-1.06)
and make sure you dont have a disc in the drive that might help to make it work.
If it still doesnt work maybe moving the drive to be Master on your ide controller might help.
That all i can think of and also make sure youve got the right firmware upgrade for the correct drive.
Let me know if it works and what improvements it does having the latest firmware.

G'day Turbo,
Ok, the dirve is on C/S and its Primary Master with the HD as Primary Slave, and I created the boot disk on NERO on a CD (used the CD to boot from) and still the same problem.
I've the 1.07 firmwear on the drive, so I have the 1.07 patch. I run the flashing program just fine, it locates the drive and asks you to press enter, then it says "firmwear is already current" and doesnt allow you to replace the factory 1.07 with the patched 1.07.
Thats where my problem lies! -
If the firmware is 1.07 on the drive then the drive already has the latest firmware so thats why it wont upgrade.
Thanks

Youhave to have the same firmwear current that your flashing...ie. if you have 1.07 firmwear standard from pioneer, you must use the 1.07 firmwear patched to make tye drive multi region etc.
So thats not the problem! -
Oh your patching your current pioneer 1.07 firmware on the drive to the hacked rpc1 firmware 1.07
Have you been to the firmware hack site and read the help files
There is also a flashing program called DVRFlash v1.1 which might be able to patch it here is the link pioneerdvd.rpc1.org
but remember patching your drive voids the warrenty and nobody takes responsibility for using the hacked firmware so do it at your own risk.
Thanks
TurboRunner
Let me know if it works
