  1. Hi guys,

Would anybody in the UK be able to recommend to me a video player that will output an NTSC video in it's true NTSC signal format and not use some weird PAL-60 hybrid style format like most VCRs do?

I suppose even one that does a full conversion job to true PAL would be ok as well, just as long as it is true 50hz PAL and not something halfway.

I need one like this because the Panasonic E50 i have will not accept any hybrid video formats, only true 50hz PAL or 60hz NTSC.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I know there are a lot of USA based websites that sell multisystem VHS VCR units that can play any type of PAL or NTSC format VHS video and output the same (NTSC VHS outputs as "true" NTSC).

I'm sure there are European websites that offer the same. I would buy some UK magazines dedicated to A/V stuff and look for ads in the back section.

Over the years I have had several such VHS VCR units and my favorite brand has always been TOSHIBA.

    P.S.
Do a google search for "multisystem video" and you should get a ton of website hits.

Check Aiwa. I had an awesome Aiwa Multi-Format one back in America. It converted NTSC to PAL and vise versa. It was dual power and had scart connections also. It wasn't cheap (around $400 US) but was worth every penny. For some reason HV MX "something" comes to mind for the model number.
