  2. PS2 depending on the model you have can be picky on the type of discs you use in it.

Do a forum search on PS2 and media compatibility and you'll probably get some ideas on things that you can try.

  7. I have a PS2 and these emthods have worked for me, so take it for what it's worth.

Ripped using DVDDecrypter, Shrink to fit to one DVD- or +R, burned to disk using Roxio Easy CD Creator. The media I've used is Fuji +r's, Memorex + and - r's, and Verbatim + r's. All have worked on the PS2 without a hitch. I've used Xcopy Xpress hit and miss at best.

  8. I have a PS2 V4 and plays both DVD+R and DVD-R.
Havent tried to many brands, but Princo, Maxell, TDK, MMore all work.

I use Verbatim Dvd-r's. My process is: DvdShrink, and then burn with Instant CD/DVD. What am I doing wrong. I always get the red screen that says "Insert Playstation/Playstation 2 Format Disc".

  10. I have noticed that if I burn a movie with Nero or other apps, they will not play in the PS2 (or even my Standalone DVD). But, if I make an image of the movie (using ImgTool Classic), then burn that image with DVD Decryter, they always work. Don't know why and really don't care since I got it to work that way. I've used Memorex -R, Imation -R, and Fuji -R media. All with the same results.

  11. for ur best compatibilty for ur ps2 go with ritek, tdk, or verbatim. these have the highest playback on any ps2. alot of people in the ps2 scene really like these and i myself like them as well. if u have a v4 or earlier then ur more likely will have to use dvd-r media cause the laser isnt upraded 'till v5 and up. v5 and up will without a doubt play dvd+r media unless of course u use cheap media. i myself thought the dvd+r media that i bought had a dark recording surface but it turned that it didnt. so i had to ship them back to exchange for dark purple recording surfaces. also if u buy dark purple or purple recording surface media then u will help minimize the wear and tear on ur ps2 laser as the laser will have less strain reading the data from the disk. but if u dont use good media and use light purple media then u will send ur ps2's laser to a faster and more painful death....haha

  12. Ps2 should read -r or +r for dvds. For games it needs dvd-r but if you have a V9 it should read +r for games too.

ps2 has a diag menu to get your dvds running. I don't know how to get it because I never use it.

if you push setup when playing a dvd on your ps2 you can access a menu where you can make sharpness +2 for a better picture.
