  1. Hi,
I have a number of trailers in .mov files and need to convert them to mpeg to cut into a VCD/SVCD. The problem is that when I try to convert using tmpgenc it does not retain this aspect ratio? What do I do to ensure that my converted mpeg has 16:9 widescreen format?

    Thanks,
    CJ

  2. Under settings:

    Video tab:
    Aspect ration 16:9

    Advanced tab:
    Source aspect Ratio: 1:1 (VGA)
Video arrange method: Full screen (keep aspect ratio)

    Should work.

  3. u prolly shouldnt go to VCD if you want to do 16:9...unless you're ok with the not-so-100%-compatible VCD and the low quality. You should prolly go SVCD and letterbox or XSVCD and 16:9.

  4. Hmmm, didn't spot it was for (S)VCD to start with. Neither of these formats supports the 16:9 DAR, so if you use it, you will be non compliant, thus actually creating what is commonly referred to as an X(S)VCD.

  5. Yah, you're right bugster. But hey, letterboxing into an SVCD will look better than doing that into a VCD.
