question on firmware??

I just got my new dvd recorder yaeeeeh me. Question about my pioneer dvr-A06u. First of all If im correct this is the Retial Version of the Pioneer 106 right?

2. How do I know what the current firm ware Is on the DVD Burner?

3. Can someone show me of a reliable link to d/l the latest firm ware?

If you have Nero it has a tool called nero Infotool that will tell you the firmware version.

If you just got it I believe there is a great chance that it has the latest 1.07 firmware.

DVDInfoPRO will tell you a lot about your drives, medias and much more...

Thanks great tool .. I h ave 1.06 Where can I get the latest Firmware? Im a little scared since I heard if u use the wrong firmware you can really mess up your rom

Just A question so I am doing this correct. I should use this one?

Pioneer DVR-A06D/106D

The others are just clones of the Pioneer? right ? I'm sorry to ask perhapse a simple question but Im new at this and want to be 100 % sure.
Also lets say I flash in the future my rom with the wrong Firmware could I just reflash with the correct firmware?? Would that fix it normally? I know on other things like flashing bios on pc I been able to restore to older version or a different Version of the firmware by reflashing.
