  1. Is it possible store multiple SVCDs on a DVD-R (with a menu) and play them in a compliant DVD-player?
(something like SVCD2DVD in PC world)

  2. There may be other solutions, but I use FFMpegX. Under the tools section select the s/vcd>dvd option. Some players balk at this since the resolution isn't changed from the svcd. My Apex sees it fine however.

  3. Didn't read fully. If you want menus, use Sizzle.

this "hack" method is best done with gumby.. demux the mpeg file and then patch the mpeg-2 header with gumby (http://gumby.misplacedmac.com).. or you can use ffmpeg to re-encode to proper resolution, or even compressor (comes with dvd studio pro 2.0) spekaing of which dvd studio pro 2.0 (if u can afford it) is hands down the best option for dvd authoring with cool menus.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn outside the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.
