  1. After fumbling through the forums here and gaining much knowledge from the masses, I have come to a wall I cannot get over.

I'm taking video that was coded to an MPEG file or "VCD NSTC" as Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.5 says and I burn it via Easy CD Creator 5.02. Easy CD creator confirms that the MPEG file is good to go with VCD use in DVD players. The CD burner is a Creative 12/10/32. I know of the sensitivity with certain CD-RW discs and playback issues. I have tried Sony, Imation, CompUSA, Office Depot, Memorex and have come to the same end with most of these discs.

The Toshiba SD-3205 is recognizing the disc as a VCD. It will "play" the disc, but nothing happens besides the laser assembly moving back and forth in rapid succession. No video, no audio, the screen remains gray. The other oddity is the time on the track as seen by the DVD player. The file is 4 minutes 43 seconds with audio and video, yet the player is showing one track at 1 hour, 11 minutes, 37 seconds. This has occurred on a few of the different brands of discs. I have sent my discs to a friend with an unknown model Sony and she reports the same thing, VCD is recognized but does not play.

Any clues, hints, secret codes, knocks in the head with a hammer would be appreciated!

watch out oo the CD-R media toshiba is very picky on what it will use.
