A Continuing thread that I have seen about dvd-recorders and -RW is DVD-VR output. You might try a search about it. If you try to read the disc in Explorer and it doesn't see any files this may be your problem.

Read your manual and see if it defaults to this format on DVD-RW Discs.

You probably want to give more information such as

    What Recorder you are using
    What media you are using
What program you are trying to use on the PC
    What errors are you getting

and anything else you can think of that would help others to pinpoint your problem.

    Hope this helps

Finalize(protect...whatever your machine calls it) the disc in the Recorder.
Use DVDDecrypter in ISO Read - then ISO Write mode. Never fails to copy my Philips created discs.

You can use either one of two methods:

    1) Open up the DVD in *My Computer* then drag and drop the files onto your HD. Then, depending upon what burning software you have, either put them into a VIDEO_TS folder and burn it onto a dvdr, or if you use Nero, burn the files only into the VIDEO_TS folder that Nero provides in DVD-Video mode.

    2) Use the *copy disc* function that most burning programs have. It will extract the data and create an ISO image and save it on yer HD. Then it'll prompt u to remove the source disc and put in a blank. It will then burn the image onto your disc, resulting in a perfect copy of your source disc.

If the DVD is one that has been written by a mate, instead of being a store bought encrypted DVD, you should not have any problems copying it like you'd copy any other files from any other type of media. There is no need to use DVD Shrink since it is not encrypted. The fact that it is an RW, instead of an R, is neither here nor there. It's just a disc with some files on it.

A lot of folks encounter problems when copying or burning because it's human nature to tinker and change settings they don't understand. Most software automatically defaults to the settings u need to use, so always try that first before changing anything to a custom set up.
