I have a Lite-on LVD-2001 stand alone DVD (DIVX), player. I love it, love it, love it. Plays everything and saves me a ton on media by storing off all backups as Divx files.
The question I have for some Lite-on enthusiasts is the differences between the newer LVD-2002 and the LVD-2001.
It appears to me that the LVD-2001 has more features and also there is can be made to ignoire region code, while the LVD-2002 cannot.
This is what is says on the Lite-on site about the LVD 2002.
REGION CODE INFORMATION
THIS DVD PLAYER IS DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED TO COMPLY THE REGION MANAGEMENT IFORMATION. MAKE SURE THE REGION NUMBER OF THE DVD TITLE IS CORRESPONDED TO THIS DVD PLAYER.
THIS DVD PLAYER WILL NOT PLAY IF THE REGION CODE OF THE DVD TITLE IS UNMATCHED.
