  1. TDK Media is on sale from amazon.com this week: 20 for $25. Free shipping. No tax. Excellent media. There is a slightly better deal going on at staples this week, but with the staples deal you can only buy one 25 pack for $25, and shipping and tax will be added to your order, likely making your order even or GREATER THAN the cost at amazon. I'd say if you just one one spindle, try your local staples before they sell out, and if you want multiple spindles, go with amazon, this is an even better price than 100 for 129 at bestbuy last week.

  2. Or you could do what I did today and walk into a local staples and three (3) 25 packs @ $24.99 each Plus tax.

Maye it is only online that has the 1 spindle limit?

    Cheers.

  3. The Sunday sales ad for the local (Tennessee) Targets has the same sale for the TDKs: pack of 20 for $25. Of course, that's plus sales tax.

  4. too bad it's TDK.. whos knows what you'll get? for DVD-R maybe Maxell...or Ritek or TDK.... or you may get CMC, right...
    this is getting bad...
I'll just go to rima and get some TY's or Riteks and KNOW who made them.

Exactly! I bought a 25 pack of +R 4x TDK's at CompUSA and they are CMC. They have the black bottom spindles with "made in Taiwan above the UPC code" Funny thing about the Staples ad. The picture of the 25 pack show that they have a gray bottom. So I went there this morning and they where black. I called every Staples in my area (Seattle) and they all had the black bottom ones. It's to funny how we can tell what they are by their spindle color, but it does help when shopping.

  6. the tdks on amazon are through target...but without the trip and the sales tax. a shame that some tdks are no longer RICOH, although the last time i bought tdks from both staples online and amazon through target online (this was early december), all of my discs were RICOH.

I don't suppose you still have the spindles they came on and could tell me if the bottoms are gray or black? Today I took back the CMC TDK 25 pack a bought a few weeks ago. I'm not going to pay a premium price for CMC

  8. I guess I've been lucky. All TDK media I've bought are TY or RicohJPN media
Companies like TDK, Verbatim, Sony should stick to high quality media makers. They have a name to protect!
we can get 2€ media and 0.90€ media made by the same company. The only difference is that the expensive media has a sticker saying TDK, Verbatim, etc. that isn't right

Brand names are no longer trust-worthy. I guess I'll have to put the "made in japan" media on top of my list
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks

Have you noticed that a slight tax increase costs you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?
