  1. I'd like to use my universal remote with my Liteon LVD-2002 DVD player.
Does anyone know if Liteon uses the same freqency (?) IR spectrum (?) as any other manufacturers? Or what I should program into my Toshiba remote inorder to let it control the Liteon LVD-2002 ?

    Thanks

  2. I think the answer is in the liteon faq. Here http://www.liteonit.com/DC/english/q&a.htm#12

It is not a remote code but some kind of file. They call it the scan codes.

  3. Hmmm.
I guess this makes sense but it is not really usefull (to me at least) unless I want to build my own remote or something.

If I could find a miainstream brand that matched these codes then I could program that name brands code into my universal remote and use it to control the LVD-2000.

I'm just trying to simplify things for the little people in the house.

  4. Yes it is probably not that useful. That was thier answer when someone asked for the remote code. That was for the lvd-2001 anyway. If you still have the 2002 remote which I gather you do and don't mind getting a higher end universal remote. There are remotes that can learn from the other remotes (by pressing the button on the liteon remote the universal remote can read what was sent and program itself). Granted this is more work than a remote code. But the remote is probably non-standard. The remote codes are usally only for major manufactures.

  5. or you can use those codes to manually program an all in one remote that has JP1 capabilities. JP1 connectors are a 6 pin connector in the remote. You can build your own cables or buy them. Also, the programs to interface with the remotes are freeware.
