  1. I am a relative newbie to backing up, when I tried to backup a backup using DVDShrink I got an error message vobu_ea. If I ripped that disk to HD using DVD Decryptor and then tried to use DVDShrink it said there was an error in the title VOB.

What is the best way for backing up a backup??

I also want to back up a few of my Region 1 NTSC DVD's as my new DVD player is not multi-region but I can't seem to convert them from NTSC to PAL - my DVD and TV play NTSC DVD's but the picture (in a 2.35:1 DVD) has a black band above it and below it - with the bottom band being larger so when my TV tries to Autoformat the picture using 16:9 Movie Expand I still get a band across the bottom of the screen.

All help is appreciated - PS does anyone know where to get a comprehensive guide to using IFOedit??

The best way to backup a backup is to put the disc in yer burner and click on *copy disc* in yer burning program. OR....drag and drop the files onto your HD and burn em the way u burnt the first backup.

DVD Shrink didn't work becuz the disc wasn't encrypted. Once u rip data off of a DVD, it is no longer encrypted.

When u originally rip the DVD, if u wish to use DVD Decrypter then compress it with shrink...you must rip it in FILE mode and get all the files. If u rip it in IFO or ISO mode, DVD Shrink will error or tell u it can't find the IFO file when u try to compress it.

The easiest thing to do is just use DVD Shrink to rip and compress. It's not as fast as the decrypter technique, but it is easier.
