  1. Hi, im new and need a LOT of help. I have a 80GB hd with 3 partitions:

    First partition : 10GB (Windows 98se) - FAT32
    Second partition : 55GB (captured programmes) - FAT32
    Third partition : FAT32

I have Winfast TV2000 XP Expert (WDM) card and i use one of the bundled software (Winfast PVR) to capture TV programmes. I capture in MJPEG format and the file is splitted (multi-segment capturing) every 1.95GB automatically by the software coz limitation of FAT32 file system.

Is it possible to change my second partition (only) into NTFS file system without re-partitioning or losing data?

Is it possible for me to capture without multi-segment capturing method if my second partition is NTFS?

So sorry, I'm not so good in English. My English is terrible.
Thanks for your tips and help.

  3. If you re-partition you'll lose all data on that partition (can back up first)

win9x can't read NTFS but there was some free/shareware program out there that allowed it to at least see the files. Would recommend installing a winNT (win2k, winNT or winXP) OS on one of the partitions. NTFS os can read/write to fat32.

Setting up multisegmented captures is fairly easy with either Virtual Dub or AVI_IO. You can then either frameserve the piecies with either VDub or avisynth to TMPGenc/CCE/etc. I've done this with a lot of VHS captures (pre-NTFS) and it works fine, no skip/jump during the switch.

Yea, I use framserving technique. I got small skip/jump during the switch but it is not VDub fault, it is cause by the software I use to capture (Winfast PVR). I can't capture in VDub coz I got WDM TV Card.

    Anyway, thanks to u all.

There's the card I use. I got mine for about half that on eBay, but that's the one. I used the BT drivers for it, and it too is listed as a Conexant in all my device settings. I was about to go buy another card because I couldn't get this one to capture 720x480 until I ran across those drivers.

You'll have to pry that twenty dollar jobber from my cold dead fingers now that it works right tho
