  1. I have a company that wants me to burn 15 min of video from Hi-8 to DVD. No menus or anything, just play on insert.

    I was thinking $25

    What would you charge?

Yeah, I'd say $50 minimum. The first thing they teach you in school is to make it sound like you're doing a lot and charge them for it.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  7. Thanks for the responses. I charged him $25, but now I think I should have charged more! Oh well, next time

I did a 15 minute training/tour vid from VHS to DVD with insert-and-play for a company for $55. I charge $30 for <120min of VHS capture then $25 for the DVD master burn. I'd quote my prices as long as housepig doesn't set up shop against me

  10. Id just use a dvd recorder it would be easy & take about a minute or two of my time. But you do get a menu that way. If youre going to do it on a PC thats going to take a lot longer.

    That's fair.
Always think about repeat business. Don't gouge.
I would have charged exactly the same price ($25 US).

That would have taken me maybe 30 minutes to do. At most.
About a dollar a minute is more than fair.

That's good business. Lordsmurf has it right, get them to come back. I'm betting they'll tell other folks about you if they are satisfied too....
