Hi - I can't seem to get TPMGEnc to recognize the d3v file created when ripping a dvd. Any suggestions on what I can try?

How are you ripping? When you rip a DVD you normally get VOB files (along with IFO and BUP files). If you're getting d2v then you're doing something other than just ripping.

Sorry - I guess I should have been more specific. I was following the Sefy's classical DVD to VCD ripping guide. In it you use SmartRipper and then use DVD2AVI to create a .d2v and a .wav file that get use in TMPGEnc to create the video file. TMPGEnc is not recognizing the .d2v file. If there is a better way to rip a DVD please let me know.
Thanks for your help -
Sefy, I´m following your guide and used the vfapi converter, but Virtual Dub can´t open the dumb file. What can I do?
Thanks in advance

There is a batch file for VFAPI which registeres the DLL's in the system, it's called vifpset.bat and it's contents are something like this:
rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection vifp.inf,DefaultInstall
Try finding that file and run itEmail me for faster replies!

I´ve already run the .bat file, I reboot and still nothing happens. There is something more I have to install or have installed?
Thanks again -
Last two things I can think off for now, is your DVD2AVI.VFP located where your TMPGEnc.EXE is ? they must be in the same folder! also, make sure that TMPGEnc.VFP is in that same folder as well.
Re-Download DVD2AVI and unzip it to your TMPGEnc folder, then re-create the D2V and WAV files and try opening them up again.Email me for faster replies!
