I tried SmartRipper for the first time and had several instances of it crashing the computer with a windows fault.

I noted some post regarding ASPI and found the noaspi.bat file which prevented the crashing.

What is ASPI for? Is there any problem with having the program turn it off?

  2. ASPI is the layer that dvd and cdrom drives "communicate" with your comp on... are you on a win2k comp??? because win2k doesnt have an aspi layer and will usually give you problems when ripping... use force aspi to install the aspi layer.
