HI, I just have one quewstion. I have a PAL tv and i would like to buy a DvD, but it says that it is in NTSC. I once made a vcd with NTSC videos and the were in blakc & white, could the same thing happen with the DVD?
Please, I would need an answer soon.

  2. Yes, it will happen, because NTSC and PAL are different colorsystems. There are two ways around this problem. If your TV supports NTSC mode, switch it to that, or, if your DVD supports NTSC on PAL TV or PAL 60 Hz, select that mode and you'll get a great result.

Also, please consider that your DVD-player is coded to region 2, usually NTSC discs are region 1, so that might not work for you. Even tough some NTSC discs are japanese and therefor are region 2.

Actually, the region code on that dvd is 0 (all) and my dvd player is suposed to play all regions. Its kinda wierd that theyr selling an NTSC dvd, altough PAL tvs are used here .

On my DVD player manual, it says that it supports PAL/NTSC, but I have no idea how to switch anything, it dident say anything about that in the manual. I dont know about that 60 Hz thing, but ill look into it.

  4. The movie you're talking about is probably an Hongkong import, they are usually region 0, though they can be NTSC...

Maby your right, but its actually a live performance dvd of an american band. Anyway, I took a look at mu DVD players setup - under a button named "LINE" i turned it from video S to RGB, at wich point the NTSC format VCD was in color, altough the quality was a bit badder then useally. You think it could work with an NTSC dvd too?

Its wierd, but you were wrong, it played in color and with no tampering with the dvd setup! Kinda wierd, but its cool that it plays it all ok.
