  1. DV Camcorder using pinnacle software. It makes it into a mpeg movie. How can I burn it to a DVD. The DVD software doesn't recognize mpeg files. I have a DVCamcorder home movie that I edited with Pinnacle software and it is to large to burn to a CD.

  2. You need to give us more info. What kind of a DVD Burner do you have? What DVD Authoring Software came with it? What have you tried?

I convert video from my Sony DV camcorder to MPG and Author it with TMPGEnc DVD Author and burn it with Recordnow DX.

  3. I have been using Microsoft MovieMaker to capture and make my movie from my home Panasonic Camcorder. For free software I have found this excellent, (if maybe a little limited), my opinion is sometimes they can over complicate programs as they often do with photo editing software. I edit until I get the final version and then save it as a DV-AVI file (this was large). From there I used TMPGenc to convert the file to mpeg2 with no noticable quality drop. I then used TMPGenc DVD Author to add menus/chapters, convert and burn the file in VOB (VIDEO_TS) format. The whole process was very easy (thanks to guides on this website) and has impressed all those that have watched it.

I would be very interested to hear if anyone else have used this process and if they liked the outcome. I do intend to try some other editing software such as NeroVision but for now I am quite happy.

  4. What Pinnacle software are you using? Studio 8 will make a DVD from a mpeg2 after it's rendered and compiled...unless your using Studio 8 Light.

A little more information would be usefull here.
