hi just a question about my pioneer dvd player
i am in ireland and when i got my pioneer dvd player i had the macrovision disabled and also had it made region free
i bought some dvd disks from the states and they play perfectly but when i try to copy them to vhs tapes they are slightly distorted ?
can anyone help me ?
is there a way around this ?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Is the output set to NTSC/PAL or Auto (Normally a switch on rear panel)? It may be that you are playing the output as NTSC, which your TV deals with, but your video can only deal with PAL.
What does the distortion look like? -

i cannot see a switch on the back ?
i am new to this and still trying to learn so please bear with me !
the picture colour flickers on playback and it also seems as though there are sound lines through the pic also
when i play back a dvd through the vcr it seems fine
i only get the problem when playing back a dvd rocorded to vhs tape
my vcr is pal/ntsc playback ok ?
i am lost !
please help
do you i need to get a new vcr ?

there is a decoder cable u can buy, i have one. I can record DVD to S-VHS with amazing quality results!!! And great sound too, i think its prologic.
