  1. How long is the life expectancy for a DVD-R once the movie is recorded of course?
    I use RITEK Silver DVD-R Media 4X certified ver. 2.0 about $2.00 a piece.

    Thanks.

  2. I think if ya keep the disk in a scratch free condition mate it will last for ever....I have many dvd copies that still work a treat that i burnt a year ago and are used about twice a week by my family........I still maintain to use the good makes of blanks as they tend to keep cooler than the cheap ones in the players, thus reducing the pixelation towards the end of the films.

    HOPE THIS HELPS

Are you in the US? Ritek 4X are available for much less than $2 per disk.

Just what is sharpie marker death ? How does it relate to a DVDR . It may be possible for the ink or chemicals in the ink to penetrate the recording layer of a CDR , but the recording layer of a DVDR is sandwiched between two layers of plastic not right on top like a CDR .
Keep it on the big cam !
