Im not talking about ccomputersd, but instead, im talking about software combos, and burning software. Ive been having a lot of problems with backing up and what not, So, im going to give it a try on my Xp drive, to see if it works better. But, i was wondering, what you guys thought the best combo for software was. I like dvdshrink, and its worked for me, but i was wondering, after i backup using this, shoudl i use dvd2one, to sort the files, or should i use dvd decrypter and then dvd2one. What do you guys recomend?

And as for burning, what should i use in that case. Nero 6 has been a little buggy in the dvd video burning range. I havent updated it to the latest version, but it has been updated. I see a lot of you guys using Nero 5, but i dont know if the patches are stull avaliable for that. But what other burning software would you guys remomend that works very well??

Any imput would me much apperciated.

    Thx

I use DVD Decrypter, then DVD2One, then Nero v6. Tho I've had some glitches in menu systems when backing up entire discs, the *movie only* copies are always perfect.

alright, ill have to try them out, but ive been doing full movie backups, so maybe thats my problem with burning.

also, my dvd burner is on another comp, do you think its wise to transfer the movie over the network to the other comp, or should i transfer the dvd burner over to this comp??

  5. Generally I find that "best" is usually subjective, depending on needs and machine. What I can do is tell you what does and has worked for me in the past.

    Home Movie/TV captures:
    to AVI = Ulead VideoStudio
    to MPEG2 = ATI MMC

    Encoding:
TMPGENc - going from AVI to MPEG2 or doing MERGE and CUT funtions on MPEG2 files, general MPEG 1 video encoding.

    Authoring:
    Basic - DVDComplete
    Advanced - DVD-Lab

    Burning:
    Nero 5.5
