iwith the help of this forum i have learnt to capture, do some basic editing and burn onto a dvd using the following.....
    windvd for the capture
    TMPGEnc plus for the conversion
TMPGEnc authour for the creation and menu setup
Record now max 4.5 for the burning of the TS file

I now only have two problems, the picture stutters during playback on my standalone DVD players when movement takes place, I know for a fact that the media is fine and i have captured with my ADVC-100 and the DV file is great, I am made up with the picture and sound quality except for this stutter/jerking of the moving parts of the picture, Can anyone point me in the right direction to get rid of this,

The other small problem is that when the burned dvd is put into my machine it automatically plays yhe film and doesnt show the menu ??

  2. Two possibilities - (1) a media compatibility problem with your set-top DVD player and (2) specifying the wrong field order in TMPGEnc. To test 1 out - burn your movie to a DVD-R manufactured by a well-known brand name. To test 2 out - swap your field order before encoding. If you're using top field first, switch to bottom field first or vice-versa.
