Im trying to backup a music dvd to dvdr. The program is 2 hours long with 1 PCM soundtrack (1.4Gb). I tried dvd2one 1.3 which ran ok but the video is quite blocky due to the size of the soundtrack. To improve the video quality I demuxed the vobs from the original, then planned to encode the pcm to mpeg. This went well until I re-authored, the dvd pauses every sec. On playing the original individual streams I found the video was 17 mins shorter than the audio??? I then demuxed the vobs separately, the 4th vob file (of 8 ) could be ripped & played ok (with nil info in media player) but will not allow the video stream to be stripped out. Has anyone heard of this happening, is it some form of copy protection???

  2. "Rip" the full DVD and "Make it fit" on a DVD-R with DVD-Shrink.
    "Burn it" with Nero.

    That's all you need.

As I understand it dvdshrink would leave the soundtrack as is (as does dvd2one) and go to work on the video stream. Still, I can't strip that video stream of of that 4th vob so I'll give dvdshrink a go and see if it outputs a better picture.....cheers
