Dansai freezes on play

I'm not sure whether this maybe my Dansai 852 player on the way out or something else.

I have backed up a couple of full length DVD movies with the following

DVD Decryter ISO mode
Burnt with Sony DRU500
DVD-R Datasafe 4 speed
DVD-R Ritek 1 speed

Plays well sometimes all the way through but more often freezes at around 90 mins (not in the same place).
The whole player locks up and refuses to open.
I switch it of and leave it for some time and after 30 mins all is OK again.

This has only just started to happen. I have had no problems like this with back ups before.
I can't see that the method or the media would cause this problem.

Any advice welcome.

My trusty Dansai 852 did the same. Everything was ok then it started doing this on a few backups. (the same disks worked ok in other peoples players.) To get around the issue I backed up just the movies & binned the menus etc. I used dvd shrink & the worlds cheapest media (as always!). Worked on all problematic DVDs.....

I thought my Dansai's days were numbered (for other reasons) so i got a new player over the weekend.

No luck.
The Dansai play still freezes on movies.

my cheapy Dansai 1010 died also and very quick too

it played everything at first, now it struggles to even play originals
