Software programs to capture screen shots will never be as good as those taken with DV or camera equipment. Most use a BMP format versus JPEG, again a limitation of the software.

  3. Jdizzy has a good point. I have used my camcorder to take some film and convert it to pictures. I had 32,000 pictures (BMPs) of last Christmas. I used 640x480 like you to keep the proper aspect ratio. I had to fight with interlacing though too. You could cap at 640x240 and size up for no interlacing. I've done that too. By the time I fought with connecting to my cap setup and fumbling through a bunch of pictures, you'd have less frustration just picking up a cheap digital camera. BUT, there was one nice thing about making all those pictures. When your kids flash a goofy smile and you say "damn, I wish I would have gotten a picture of that..." You have 30 pictures for evry one second of time! NOTHING gets missed. And if you can't shell out the jack for a DV camcorder, it may be your only option.

  4. Dang, im a little confused now.

You mean thoes gaming sites that have like 800x600 supurb quality in game photos use a external digital video camera?

They must have some set up then.
RGB monitor with a special no tilt or quality loss in the photos from a specially aligned DV camera.

I thought high quality photos like that was done all via computer capture.
Im almost in disbelief that a DV camera pointed towards a monitor would be the best way for the highest quality photos avalable.

Best program so far is PowerVcr (decent capture 320x240), but then i guess ide like to know what card, DV camera or equiptment i can use (with a 2gigmhz above 700 ram, winxp) for high quality photos.

    Round up:
Im trying to capture playstation2 gameplay video with the audio and high quality photos for my site.
What one would recommend ide use/get to have great high resolution quality content like other sites have?

  5. Well, if you have a tv out on your card, you could send that to a DV cam and bring back the DV content to your pc.

I was using TVTool to send the information to my VCR and then capturing the content back to my computer. I would loose alot of information going back and forth but it did get the job done.
